A Classic English Country Wedding at Northbrook Park Hampshire

A beautiful, Grade II-listed, country manor house situated in stunning rolling grounds, Northbrook Park was the idyllic setting of K&R’s classically romantic summer wedding. After a ceremony which had taken place in Korea a few weeks previously, the couple chose The Vine Room for their UK wedding celebration; a high-ceilinged, elegant space with stunning tall French windows allowing for streams of natural light to dance through the space, crystal chandeliers and, of course, the epic fireplace.
The floral brief was predominately tones of green and white with hints of the palest yellow; a classically elegant palette which enhanced the setting perfectly without distracting from the finer details of the space such as the delicate vine engravings around the doorways and the clean marble floor. K&R wanted a statement floral backdrop for their wedding breakfast, so we adorned the beautiful fireplace with an asymmetric installation which trailed along the mantle, cascading down one side. It is difficult to appreciate the sheet scale in the photos but at over 2 metres tall it really makes for an eye-catching focal point. We used lots of lush green foliage as a base for the fluffy white peonies, delphiniums, stocks, ammi and English garden roses.
The bridal flowers used the same palette of white and green, but also had a hint of honeyed, pale yellow, finished with a beautiful hand-dyed silk ribbon in creamy champagne. K’s bridesmaids all wore yellow, but chose the dresses themselves; allowing them to spend the day in something they each felt most comfortable in. For their bouquets we used lots of textural fillers, like astilbe, which added gorgeous height and airy-ness, along with the craspedia for little pops of yellow.
The top table was framed and highlighted by the stunning fireplace, so we kept the floral arrangements minimal with bud vases dotted along the length of the table and filled with individual focal flowers. The round guest tables mirrored the rest of the decor with classically simple white footed bowl arrangements filled with a selection of English summer blooms such as peonies, roses, phlox and scabious. Height was aded with simple gold candlesticks and elegant, tall, white tapered candles.
Designing, creating and installing the floral decor for K&R’s day was a true pleasure, and it was wonderful to witness their beautiful day come to life. The elegant and beautiful brief, stunning venue and attention to the finer details made for the most romantic, classic English country wedding.
