A Romantic Winter Shoot with Gigi & Olive

As well as working on countless beautiful weddings, we also love working with incredible bridal brands across the wedding industry to curate inspirational shoots. Before Christmas we were lucky enough to work with Gigi & Olive on their winter launch shoot, here’s a look at what we got up to…

As the destination for the modern, stylish and chic bride, I wanted to create a similarly refined and elegant feel for the floral design of Gigi & Olive’s winter launch. The location was similarly beautiful; exuding elegance and a Parisian apartment vibe with exposed wood flooring, ornate fireplaces and floor-to-ceiling sash windows. A muted palette of ivory, nude and pale blush was at the heart of the floral colour palette, with an intentional absence of greenery to create a modern, clean and tasteful aesthetic. 

Gigi & Olive’s collection of premium bridal nightwear, gorgeously embroidered accessories and stylish, personalised gifts naturally took centre stage, so I wanted to create floral pieces that enhanced the aesthetic of quiet luxury without overpowering the product. Individual ikebana-style arrangements and larger meadow pieces were used and strategically placed in both model and product shots. To accentuate the aesthetic of refinement I predominately used roses in varying tones of muted neutrals and warm ivory which kept the look streamlined, and I carefully reflexed each petal for a modern touch. 

Georgie, founder of Gigi & Olive, also wanted to create a wintery scene surrounding the beautiful fireplace - enhancing a feeling of warmth and winter romance. I wanted to design a piece that felt impactful and dramatic but also relaxed and not ‘overdone’, and delicate bud vases were perfect for this. The key was using enough vases for the overall look to feel abundant and flower-heavy. I also draped beautiful foliage and white berries between each vase, along with tall taper candles in varying heights to give a warm glow to the images.

The result was a romantic and stylish feel, which perfectly encapsulates the aesthetic of the Gigi & Olive bride.
